Bio-Degradable Bike Bottles offered by California Springs - an Industry First

Written by Press Release
Posted Jul 09, 2008
California Bike Gear has developed BioGreen Bottles(TM) a new line of biodegradable bike bottles that are now part of it's best selling California Springs line. "California Springs has introduced many innovations and firsts to the bike industry over the past 19 years ... but this new development is the best yet," says Steve Finch, company president, "It's the cornerstone of our "Green Initiative."

Finally ... an LDPE plastic water bottle that will completely biodegrade.  It is made with a biodegrading additive that is activated when the bottle has outlived it's entire useful life and is disposed of in landfill, dump or backyard compost pile. As a matter of fact, BioGreen Bottles will totally biodegrade into biogas and a biomass that actually becomes a soil nutrient.

Unlike starch-based degradable plastic made from corn or potato products it is completely recyclable and won't pollute ground water. Unlike oxo-degradable plastic, it will not degrade in heat or light ... the environment in which most bikes live.

BioGreen Bottles maintain the same look and feel of regular California Springs bottles. You can't see, feel or taste the difference. Here are the most important details in just a few words ...

- Biodegradable
- Recyclable (#4)
- Made from Recycled Materials
- Degrades only after it's been discarded
- BPA Free
- FDA Food Contact Safe
- CA Prop 65 Compliant
- Leakproof DuoFlow(TM) caps
- Available in 50+ Colors and all California Springs Bottle sizes and styles
- Descriptive hang tag included

BioGreen Bottles will be available through wholesale distributors and will be a part of California Springs' very popular Custom Imprint Program. BioGreen Bottles are a California Springs exclusive.

You can access more information about BioGreen Bottles from the home page of  CaliforniaBikeGear.com.

More From California Bike Gear
California Bike Gear is the new umbrella name for all bike industry products manufactured by Cal Springs, LLC, including Stop Flats Tire Liners, California Springs Water Bottles, and Quik-Stik Tire Changing Tools. The new website at CaliforniaBikeGear.com provides a consumer section where bicyclists can learn all about these product lines. There is also a password protected, dealer area where dealers can get ideas on how to sell more of these products. New to the website is a place for dealers to create custom art for imprinted water bottles.

California Bike Gear innovations of the past few months are already on-line. Dealers and consumers alike can note the new sizes for Stop Flats 2, and the brand new Classic Twister water bottles. The latest new ideas are the new BioGreen Bottles(TM) and the ability to custom imprint shop names or other information on Quik-Stiks.
